What is Capsule Endoscopy?
Capsule endoscopy allows your doctor to see the lining of your small intestine. You may have already had endoscopic examinations to look at your stomach and large intestine. This tests looks at the small intestine, which cannot be completely viewed with endoscopy. You will swallow a vitamin-sized capsule that contains a very small camera. While the video capsule travels through your body, it sends images to a data recorder you will wear on a belt around your waist.
