After Visit Summary

At the end of your appointment at Prevea, you will be given an “After Visit Summary” sheet. This sheet may include:

  • A brief overview of what you discussed with your physician or provider.
  • What you can expect with potential treatment plans or medications you are prescribed.
  • Follow-up instructions or any other important next steps.
  • Follow-up appointment details.

Your After Visit Summary is also available in MyPrevea at any time.

Based on your situation, diagnosis or plan of care, you may have specific instructions to follow after your appointment. This may include planning for follow-up visits, scheduling an appointment with a referring provider, lab work or imaging (such as an X-ray), practicing exercises or taking medication based on your provider’s recommendations. Please follow these instructions carefully and contact the physician or provider you saw at your appointment if you have questions or concerns.

Results

If your plan of care includes a lab test or imaging such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI scans, your results will be available in MyPrevea. Since your diagnosis and treatment plans depend on the results of your lab work, Prevea’s lab and pathology team work hard to get your results back to you as soon as possible and will review and share your results with your physician or provider.

We believe sharing your information as soon as it becomes available helps build trust and keeps you involved in your health care journey. However, this may mean you see your results in MyPrevea before your physician or provider has seen them, and before they’ve called or messaged you to explain your results and follow-up needs. Some test results may be hard to understand. For this reason, it’s recommended to wait until the office contacts you to review test results. If after a few days you have not heard from your physician or provider regarding your results, or if you cannot wait, you may contact their office to discuss your results together.

Prescription medication

If you need a prescription medication, your physician or provider will have it sent directly to your pharmacy of choice. Plan to check which pharmacies are in-network with your health insurance plan prior to your appointment so it can be sent to one of those pharmacies. It may take 30 minutes or more for the pharmacy to fill and prepare your prescription.

Paying for your visit

In the weeks following your appointment, watch your mail or email for billing details. This will include an explanation of benefits from your insurance company (which describes what costs will be covered by your insurance company) and a bill from any health care organization from which you received care.
