Enrollment eligibility

Students are eligible for counseling and medical services if they are an enrolled UW-Green Bay student. Specific criteria is as follows:

Eligible students

  • Current students: students who are enrolled in the current term AND have paid segregated fees for the current term.
  • Summer term students: term is a summer term AND the student was enrolled in the prior spring term AND the student paid segregated fees for the prior spring term AND the student is enrolled in the next fall term.
  • International students: student is an international student AND their admit term is greater than or equal to the current term AND the application is registered.

Ineligible students

  • Withdrawal students: students who have a withdraw date greater than or equal to the Term begin date (students who withdrew from the current term).

Future students who are enrolled in a term that is greater than the current term AND are not enrolled in the current term AND were not enrolled in the prior term will have web access only.

Cost

  • Medical services and wellness exams are free
  • Prevea Virtual Care is free
  • Prevea Urgent Care visit is free (for Marinette, Sheboygan and Manitowoc campus students only)
  • If labs/screenings/testing, immunizations, medications or pathology services are required, you will be billed directly to your medical plan or pay at time of service with credit/debit/HSA card or check.

Prevea Urgent Care is an affordable health care option.

Prevea Urgent Care services can address:
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Ear aches
  • Cuts without profuse bleeding but that require stitches
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Rashes and burns
  • Severe sore throat and cough
  • Minor infections including strep and mononucleosis
  • Other testing available: Urine (including for pregnancy), blood sugar and more
Eligibility: For on-campus students, Urgent Care is available and billed through your insurance For branch-campus students, Urgent Care is available for minimal cost.

We know that illnesses and injuries don’t always occur when our wellness center is open. For those times, Prevea Health offers an option for affordable health care at one of your local Prevea Urgent Care locations. The visit will be billed to your insurance.

MyPrevea
MyPrevea, the online gateway to your medical record, empowers you with secure access to your health care information from any computer or via the MyPrevea app, anytime. From MyPrevea, you can request prescription refills and exchange secure messages with your health care team.
Virtual Care
Prevea Virtual Care is an easy way to be diagnosed and treated for common conditions. With Prevea Virtual Care, you can get care on your schedule for most common conditions. No appointment needed.

Prevea Care After Hours offers a free, convenient way for Prevea patients to seek medical advice 24/7, whether it be an injury, illness or medical question.

Health and Wellness Center FAQs

Office visits are to be made during personal time. The general attendance policy applies for the visit, just as if you were seeing a provider offsite.
Yes. Upon entering the center, you will be asked for a form of identification, such as a driver’s license.
Yes. If you have a lab order from another provider, we can perform a blood draw and/or collection and send it to the lab for testing and processing. There is no cost for lab services completed at the center.
If you are a Prevea patient, your medical records will automatically be available to your provider through EPIC, the electronic medical record. Many local health systems now use EPIC. There is a function in EPIC known as “Care Everywhere” that, with your permission, will allow other providers to access your medical record within other health systems that use EPIC. Otherwise, records can be faxed to your provider via confidential fax lines.
The center is a convenient and cost-effective option your employer offers employees as a benefit. Which care provider you decide to see is 100% your choice.
Yes. The providers at the center will communicate, upon request, about all services including lab work to your primary care provider. If additional follow up is needed, Prevea will refer you to your system of choice.
Prevea has an electronic medical record at the center. Any service provided by the providers will automatically be communicated to your primary care provider through the electronic medical record.
You may be referred to another provider for services; as a result, that provider’s care will be charged to your insurance.
No. Your health care information is protected under the federal HIPAA patient privacy rules and standards.
No. Your employer does not have access to medical records. The center is operated by Prevea Health employees and is in full regulatory compliance with HIPAA.
Yes. You still need insurance because the center covers a limited number of services. You still need insurance for medical procedures not available at the center, such as X-rays or catastrophic events.
