Vascular Surgeon
Accepting new patients
“
As a vascular surgeon, I treat all forms of disease that affects the circulatory system, including carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, lower extremity obstructive vascular disease and varicose veins. In addition, I provide comprehensive care to create and maintain dialysis access as well as general counseling for risk-factor modification for those at risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease.
I provide a comprehensive range of therapies for vascular disease including traditional open surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques and minimally invasive catheter-based therapies such as angioplasty and stenting.
Whether it’s during the first visit, preparing for surgery, explaining post-operative care or seeing a patient during a follow-up visit, I strive to explain complex situations in easy-to-understand terms. I also lay out all the possibilities and options for the patient so he/she can make informed decisions. I believe that a physician must be an educator to patients at every interaction.
My patients can expect a comprehensive evaluation of their concerns in a relaxed and congenial fashion, and I encourage them to bring a list of questions, a list of current medications and a list of prior treatments. I believe that communication, empathy and genuine caring and patient advocacy connect a physician with his or her patients.
As a native of West Allis, I am excited to practice medicine and raise my family in Wisconsin. I enjoy volleyball, baseball, golf, classical music and playing trombone. I was a proud member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band that performed at the 1994 Rose Bowl and 1995 Hall of Fame Bowl."
