GREEN BAY, Wis. – Prevea Health is pleased to welcome orthopedic hand surgeons, Joanie Columbia, MD, and Daniel Williams, MD, now caring for patients in Green Bay.

Dr. Columbia specializes in fracture care of the hand, wrist and forearm; repair and reconstruction of nerves, tendons and ligaments; and care of compressive neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome. She can also help manage arthritis, tendonitis and tendinopathy.

“I want each patient to feel like they matter,” says Dr. Columbia. “If they choose to see me as their hand surgeon, then they are important to me. When communicating with patients, I am direct and honest. I want each patient to leave understanding their problem and what options are available to them."

She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Loma Linda University and completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity microsurgery at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center. She is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Williams specializes in joint replacement, tumor extraction and arthroscopies. He can also mitigate symptoms of arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and fractures of the hand, wrist and forearm.

“My patients can expect a physician who will listen to their story and their desire to get well,” says Dr. Williams. “Together, we will plan a strategy that meets their individual needs. I believe the most rewarding thing is when I can help my patients restore function and improve their quality of life.”

He earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, completed a residency in general surgery at the Howard University Hospital and a fellowship in orthopedic hand and upper extremity at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Drs. Williams and Columbia see patients at Prevea Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, 1726 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, and perform surgery at the Prevea Surgery Center and HSHS St. Vincent and St. Mary’s Hospitals in Green Bay.
