GREEN BAY, Wis. – Prevea Health announces the appointment of Paul Pritchard, MD, MBA, as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, following a nationwide search.

Dr. Pritchard has been a part of the Prevea family for 25 years, first as an internal medicine physician and then serving in various leadership roles including Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, Associate Director of Quality for Primary Care and Medical Director of Quality. He most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pritchard works closely with executive directors, department chairs, physicians and senior managers throughout Prevea’s Northeast Wisconsin market to guide patient care that meets and exceeds patient expectations. He also continues to care for patients as an internal medicine physician at the Prevea East Mason Health Center in Green Bay.

“At Prevea, we believe the Chief Medical Officer is the doctor’s doctor,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, President and CEO, Prevea Health. “Dr. Pritchard has proven over his years of service that his passion for our organization and the physicians who practice here is second to none. The real winner in this decision is our patients as Dr. Pritchard’s focus on making Prevea the best place to give care and the best place to get care will always be his number one priority.”

In his time at Prevea, Dr. Pritchard has successfully led and championed efforts to develop patient care management and advocacy; improve patient experience and satisfaction; address critical community and health care needs during the COVID-19 pandemic; and more. He also helped Prevea, in partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin, establish the first family medicine physician residency program in Green Bay. In addition, his persistent advocacy efforts in the arenas of health care reform and the opioid epidemic have made a positive impact on state and federal levels.

“My goal has always been to help make Prevea Health one of the best health care delivery systems in the country, through lowering the total cost and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients,” said Dr. Pritchard. “As Chief Medical Officer, I look forward to working more closely with our physicians and providers to ensure they have the support they need to deliver care that exceeds expectations.”

Dr. Pritchard replaces Dr. Laura Nelson as Chief Medical Officer, who retired from health care this year. Dr. Gregory

Grose continues to serve as Chief Medical Officer for Prevea’s Sheboygan market.
